House Rules

We have some “house rules” that you should be aware of.

• To help us maintain a peaceful, relaxing environment, persons not listed on the booking form such as family or friends staying in the area are not permitted to visit or enter the accommodation.

• You are booking adults-only accommodation - babies/infants/children are not permitted.

• We have a no pets policy.

We have highlighted the above from our Booking Terms and Conditions, this is to help you decide whether or not you think our accommodation may be suitable. Please contact us if you have any queries and we will be more than happy to help.

Property

  • Sorry, we operate a strict no pets policy in all properties.

  • Sorry, unfortunately all our retreats are not suitable nor designed for babies, toddlers or children.

    We only accept adults aged 18+.

  • While we don't offer hot tubs, our copper air-spa baths give a very similar effect and have the benefit of fresh water for each use, rather than the need for chemicals to regulate the water cleanliness.

    The largest air-spa bath is in Sun Seeker and holds up to 800 litres!

    There are also the 530 litre round copper air-spa baths in Skyfall, Sundancer and Stargazey.

    There is a 475 litre brass bateau air-spa bath in The View.

    There are also bateau air-spa baths in Bijou, Silver Sea, Moonraker and Little Gem.

    Corn Keep has a bateau bath (not air-spa) and all other retreats (not listed above, excludes Nest Box and Kovva) have a spa bath in the bathroom.

  • Please look at our accommodation inventory of facilities and features generally included in each retreat.

    Kitchens are equipped with basic cooking utensils. You may wish to bring any specific cooking equipment with you.

  • All properties have WiFi access.

  • Smoking is not permitted inside any buildings at Wooldown Holiday Cottages.

  • All our retreats are for a maximum of 2 adults only, persons not listed on the booking such as family/friends staying in the area or additional persons, are not permitted to enter the Wooldown Holiday Cottages site. This is to try to keep the site as peaceful as possible for all guests staying.

Arrival and Departure

  • All properties are available from 4pm.

    If you arrive earlier into Cornwall please telephone us as you may be able to access the property earlier if it has been fully cleaned and prepared for your arrival.

    If you plan to arrive later than 6.30pm and have not indicated this upon booking, please contact us.

  • Departure time is by 10am.

    If you book a 1 night stay, we will extend this until 10.30am.

  • You can see directions here on finding us (as sat nav routes can be misleading!).

    You will receive an email with further details on what to do at check-in and check-out 5 days before your stay.

    Please get in touch if you have not received this email.

  • If you plan to arrive later than 6.30pm and have not indicated this upon booking, please contact us. Generally this isn’t an issue as long as we know when to expect you.

  • We have two electric vehicle charging points, for guests only. Look at our Electric Vehicle Charging page for further information.

  • The following supermarkets deliver to us: Waitrose, Morrisons, ASDA and Sainsburys.

    We ask that grocery delivery slots are booked at a time when you are in to accept the delivery.

    If you are selecting a delivery slot for your arrival day, you may want to schedule this for late evening (i.e. after the 4pm arrival time) or you may want to consider a delivery for your first morning if you are unsure of your arrival time.

    Please include your name (person who made the booking) and the apartment or cottage name so we can ensure your delivery is sent to the correct place.

Payment

  • A deposit payment of 25% or £50 (whichever is greater) of the total cost of your stay is required to secure your booking. Full payment is required at the time of making your booking if your booking arrival date is within 28 days.

  • Any outstanding balances are due at least 28 days prior to your holiday start date.

  • If you book online or over the phone the following payment methods are accepted: VISA, Mastercard, VISA Debit/Delta, Mastercard Debit Card, Maestro, Solo, VISA Electron.

Booking

  • You can book a property online (up to 1 day before your planned arrival) or do not hesitate to give us a call on 01288 361 216.

    • Use our date search or view the availability grid.

    • Fill out your details and submit your booking.

    • A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking, the remaining balance is due 28 days prior to your arrival date. You may amend your booking for any reason up until 28 days before your arrival.

    • We will review your booking request and if everything is in order we will process your payment and confirm your booking by email.

    • 5 days before your stay you will receive an email with check-in details along with further information to help you make the most of your stay.

      Finally, count down the days until your Cornish break.

  • Short breaks are offered in all our accommodation, all year round. You can book to arrive and depart on any day of the week.

  • We offer digital gift vouchers.

    Purchase a gift voucher for any amount, this is great as a gift for a friend or family member to put towards a stay.

    After you have purchased your gift voucher you will receive the voucher by email so you can either print yourself or use the gift voucher code to write in a greetings card or message to your friends or family.

  • Please contact us to add additional nights to your stay (subject to availability).

    If additional nights are not available we may be able to offer you an alternative property.

  • You may amend your booking arrival date (within 18 months of your original arrival date) or accommodation selection with us for any reason provided the change is made at least 28 days before the booking arrival date, these changes are subject to availability and are likely to involve a change in the price of your booking.

    Any subsequent amendments to the arrival date of your booking must again be within 18 months of the arrival date of your original booking. If your amended booking total is lower than the amount paid, we will refund the difference, minus an administration fee of £30.00.

    To amend your bookings arrival date or accommodation selection, you should visit www.wooldown.com/amend-or-cancel and submit an amendment request. Acknowledgement of the amendment will be emailed by us.

    Amending booking duration:

    You may not reduce your booking duration (number of nights) but you may extend your stay, subject to availability at any time. If you wish to add additional nights to your booking please contact us to check availability and price.

  • The optional booking extra “Flexi-book” allows you to cancel your booking for any reason and receive a full refund up to 5 days before your arrival date.

    Flexi-book can only be purchased at the time of booking for an additional non-refundable fee (calculated at the time of booking).

  • We strongly advise you take out your own personal travel/holiday insurance policy with a third party.

    You may also like to consider our “Flexi-book” option at the time of booking (although not an insurance policy) this optional extra allows you to cancel your booking for any reason and receive a full refund up to 5 days before your arrival date.

Need to cancel a booking?

If you wish to cancel your holiday, you should notify us immediately.

You should visit www.wooldown.com/amend-or-cancel and submit a request, the cancellation charges shown below will apply, unless you have taken out our optional “Flexi-book” at the time of booking.

For example, if you were to cancel a £500 booking 10 days before your arrival date, the cancellation charge would be 75% of your total booking cost, this would result in a £375 cancellation charge, if you have paid the full amount, you would therefore, receive a refund of £125.
